Strawbale Rendering
What I do
I specialise in the application of earthen render to a strawbale stucture (eg. house, wall). In one day using my render pump it is possible to apply a 3cm layer of render over 300m2 of wall, if this same area was done by hand it would take weeks. I will provide you with ten years of experience in mixing and applying clay/sand/lime renders, so that you can render your house with confidence.
I will work with you and your volunteers or I can supply all or part of the labour to help you with the desired finish of your
house. The rendering process is always in your control. I bring experience and a means to do the job quickly
I can be contacted on my email: markmichaelbeedle@yahoo.com.au or my Mobile Phone: 0411042363
I will send you an information sheet via email if you are interested in using my services.

How we do it
In summary,
I use three coats of render to seal your straw bales.
Clay/sand and in some cases a small percentage of lime are combined with water to give a workable, sticky first coat.
For the second and third coats, increasing amounts of lime and sand are added to give a smooth weather proof finish.
Your volunteers or hired labour mix the render and wheelbarrow it into the render pump. I then spray it, at the required thickness for each coat, on to the walls. Depending on the coat, one to three helpers then rub or trowel the render on the wall. The process continues until the coat is completed over the whole house and once dry further coats of surface treatments can be applied.
Most houses take 1 day for first coat, 2 days for second coat and 2 days for third coat.
